I highly recommend this hotel.Posted onVerified Schönes Hotel in Toplage Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Lage, am Ende der Halbinsel, am Zusammentreffen des Mekongs mit einem weiteren Fluß. Unsere Junior Suite Riverview lag in der zweiten Reihe. Dadurch war es etwas dunkel und die Terrasse war nicht wirklich nutzbar, da wir von ihr nur auf die Rückseite des vorderen Gebäudes schauen konnten, aber auch ausgesprochen ruhig. Die Suite war sauber, geräumig und ansprechend, mit alten oder auf alt getrimmten Möbeln, eingerichtet. Die AC funktionierte nicht, was bei Nachttemperaturen unter 10°C eigentlich auch nicht notwendig wäre. Einziger Nachteil des Zimmers war, daß es dort immer etwas feucht war. Aufgrund der großen Temperaturdifferenz von mehr als 20°C zwischen Tag und Nacht und der Lage, das Zimmer bekam am Tag nicht viel Sonnenschein ab, war es dort immer etwas klamm. Hier hätte z. B. eine funktionierende AC geholfen. Das Frühstück war gut, obwohl die Auswahl eher gering war. Leider fanden unterhalb des Restaurants Bauarbeiten (Aufschüttung von Sand am Mekongufer) statt, so daß es dort nicht immer idyllisch war. Zusammenfassend empfehlen wir das Hotel aber weiter, zumal fußläufig fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten erreicht werden können.Posted onVerified Unbeatable riverside views, tasteful yet modern rooms, amazing staff Can't say enough positive things. While many visitors to Luang Prabang seek out riverside cafes or restaurants, you have this at your doorstep. The view is so lovely that I spent one afternoon just sitting on my room balcony enjoying the view. Room was extremely tasteful and comfortable -- done in the old colonial French style, but with modern amenities (an adjustable bed and super plush mattress) and -- better than blackout curtains -- full window/door shutters. Staff were incredibly kind and when I accidentally left something behind they took their own time to ship it back to me in Vientiane. Also free bikes and shuttles into the night market. This all-wood hotel retains the relaxed sensibility of another time. The room was very comfortable, with excellent a/c and other amenities. The hotel itself was very quiet. The only noise was the occasional evening beach party on the riverbank below the hotel. The hotel is situated near the end of the peninsula, where the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers come together. The views from the hotel and from the dining area are simply breathtaking. And, the hotel is very close to the Wat Xieng Thong Temple and the other nearby wats. We also want to give a shout out to the hotel staff, who went out of their way to assure that our needs were met. Among other things, they arranged our trip up the Mekong on a private boat, transportation to the Kuang Si waterfall complex, and transportation to the airport on our departure. In every case, we had excellent personal service, and the cost was less than we would have paid if we had booked it ourselves.
